Father\u2019s Presence<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The father must personally report the birth within 30 days from the date of delivery.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the father cannot be present within 30 days, he may issue a power of attorney (POA) via Najiz authorizing a representative.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The POA must be valid and issued within Saudi Arabia only.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">POAs from recognized governmental bodies outside Saudi Arabia are not accepted. If the father is abroad, the POA must be issued by a Saudi embassy and explicitly state the authority to notify and obtain a birth certificate for the child, mentioning the child\u2019s name.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2. Child\u2019s Name Selection<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The child\u2019s full name must follow the four-part format: First name \u2013 Father\u2019s name \u2013 Grandfather\u2019s name \u2013 Family name.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name must be written in English.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the father is non-Saudi, the full name must be written in capital letters. For Saudi fathers, only the child\u2019s first name is capitalized.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>3. Name Restrictions<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compound first names are not allowed (e.g., \u201cMohamed Khaled\u201d as one first name).<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Names contrary to Islamic principles are prohibited (e.g., Abdul-Nabi, Abdul-Rasool, Abdul-Masih, Abdul-Kaaba, Abdul-Hussein).<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strange, inappropriate, or culturally unsuitable names (e.g., Zuhal, Baras, Qamar) are not allowed.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compound names such as \u201cQamar Al-Zaman\u201d or \u201cAbdul Aziz \/ Abdullah\u201d are not accepted.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Titles (e.g., Al-Sherif, Al-Sayyed, Al-Sheikh) cannot be included in the name field.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prefix \u201cAl-\u201d is not allowed at the beginning of the name (e.g., Al-Anoud, Al-Ghalia).<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nicknames or shortened forms (e.g., Abu Omar, Abu Ali) are not accepted.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Names containing socially or religiously inappropriate expressions are strictly prohibited.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4. Absher Application<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The form must be downloaded and completed in advance via the Absher application.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>5. Twins Births<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documents must be submitted for both twins together, and the reporting officer must be informed of the twin birth.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If one of the twins has passed away, this must be fully reported to the officer.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>6. Birth Certificate Issuance<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once issued by Civil Affairs, the birth certificate cannot be modified by the hospital. Any corrections must be requested directly from Civil Affairs.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>7. Lost Birth Certificate<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case of loss, a replacement must be requested from Civil Affairs. Hospitals cannot issue a replacement.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>8. Notification Completion<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the birth notification is completed, the applicant will be notified via SMS. No paper notification will be issued.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>9. Birth Certificate Authority<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hospitals do not issue birth certificates. They are exclusively issued by Civil Affairs.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>10. Cases Without Hospital Records<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the birth was not reported at the hospital or records are unavailable, the family must approach Civil Affairs with an official letter from the hospital addressed to the Health Affairs Directorate.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>11.
